Professor David Bell

Profile

My interests span critical human geography and cultural studies, and include cultural policy, urban and rural cultures, consumption and lifestyle, science and technology, and sexuality. Often in my work I try to bring these different interests into productive contact. I am currently working on a number of publications and developing research projects on hospitality and the city, cosmetic surgery tourism, and cultural policy.

I welcome PhD applications in the following areas:

  • Geographies of sexualities
  • Cultural policy
  • Food & drink

  • Media geographies

I am a member of the Centre for Cultural Policy and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Gender Studies at the University of Leeds.
