A seminar on the EU-UK collaboration on climate: bilateral dynamics and joint global action with Dr Daniel Bradley, Head of Climate and Environment at the UK Mission to the European Union (EU).
Dr Daniel Bradley has been the Head of Climate and Environment at the UK Mission to the European Union (UKMIS) in Brussels since 2022, driving work with the EU across bilateral and international action on climate action and green transition, protecting the biodiversity of land and oceans, and tackling pollution.
Internally, Dan strives to embed green leadership and sustainability across all UKMIS policy work.
Dan has been a UK Government adviser and diplomat on international development, climate, environment, agriculture, food security and poverty reduction issues since 2003.
This includes nine years in New Delhi, six years in Brasilia, and four years in London supporting Africa and Asia missions.
He has worked extensively with leaders, creating a new ministerial energy dialogue with India and has taken an innovative approach to programming including pioneering new south-south models to share knowledge and technology.
He has represented the UK in United Nations negotiations and in work with the World Bank, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), EU and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
In the ten years before taking up government roles, Dan delivered international development consultancy assignments; trained volunteers to adapt to working in developing countries; wrote a Practitioners Guide to Participatory Approaches; delivered teamwork, leadership and communication programmes; and carried out PhD research into livelihood adaptation in rural communities of Sahelian Senegal.
He holds a PhD and BSC in Geography from the University of Leeds.
