Nutchanon Phantapanichakul

Profile

I began my career as an civil engineer in construction company, working in the Road and Bridge team for three years, where I gained hands-on experience in project planning, design, construction execution, and quality control.

I then worked for three years at the Department of Highways, Thailand, in the Bureau of Road Research and Development. My role focused on research and development of modern highway engineering solutions, including material source investigation, quality testing, mix design, pavement distress analysis, technical consultation on new technologies, and development of knowledge databases to support safe, efficient, and sustainable national highway infrastructure.

Research interests

My research interests focus on developing rutting-resistant asphalt using sustainable materials, such as recycled asphalt pavement, and advanced mixing techniques, including warm mix asphalt, to address rutting issues in Thailand’s highway network. The research integrates resilient pavement design with sustainable materials and incorporates life cycle assessment (LCA) to evaluate both economic and environmental impacts.
