Profile

I joined the Institute for Transport Studies as a Lecturer (Asst Prof) in Sustainable Freight Transport and Logistics in 2024.I held Assistant Professor and senior lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management roles at the University of Bradford and University of Huddersfield between 2019 – 2024. I also worked as a research assistant at Dokuz Eylul University in Turkey between 2014-2019. Before joining academia, I worked in the international shipping, logistics and trade areas in the industry. 

 
My research interests include decarbonisation, resilience, and digitalisation in freight transport, logistics, and supply chain. I am particularly experienced in maritime logistics subject. My research has been published in international journals such as Transportation Research Part E, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, Transport Policy, Journal of Transport Geography, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Computers in Industry, and IJPDLM. My research about “Freight transport resilience in the UK in the post-COVID-19 and post-BREXIT era” was funded by the British Academy / Leverhulme Small Research Grant. I publish articles in the Conversation. I am a chartered member of CILT and the Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
