Sebastian Castellanos

Profile

I hold a Bachelor in Electronic Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia), a Master’s Degree (Project Management and Technology) from the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne (France) and an MSc. in Transport Planning and the Environment, from the Institute for Transport Studies at the University of Leeds (UK).

I am currently pursuing my PhD (split-site) looking at the role of regulation in shared mobility modes.

I currently work at the World Resources Institute where I am a manager with the Urban Efficiency and Climate team, where I provide advice and support to cities in designing and implementing low carbon, high efficient transport solutions and policies, including electric vehicles, fuel economy policies and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) amongst others. I also lead the research efforts for the New Urban Mobility Alliance (NUMo) where we are helping cities worldwide navigate the new mobility space through research, pilots and direct engagements.

Research interests

My research interests lie at the intersection of new technologies, mitigation of GHG and policy.
