Profile
Muti is a postgraduate researcher at the Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds. He holds an MBA in Aviation Management from Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. He has been working in the aviation industry for more than ten years. Previously, he was a cargo operation and marketing manager at a General Sales Agency representing British Airways and Air Canada. Prior to pursuing his Master, he worked at Garuda Indonesia, the flag carrier of the Republic of Indonesia, as an instructor in the area of airline business and commercial as well a training coordinator representative for SkyTeam Global Alliance. He is currently in charge of a lecturer at the Civil Aviation Polytechnic of Surabaya and an IATA authorized training instructor.
Research interests
Muti is currently investigating the economic effects of air transport liberalization under the supervision of Prof. Richar Batley and Dr. Thijs Dekker. Specifically, he evaluates the impacts of the agreement on airline fares, capacity, capacity utilization, and strategic behavior. He also uses the modelling approach to model the potential extended liberalization under the higher level of the air freedoms.
