Research collaboration

Beyond academia, our research is meeting the needs of industry, influencing policy and changing practice internationally. Our work has influence on a national and global scale through collaborations with numerous partners in academia, industry, government, professional bodies and NGOs in the UK, Europe, China, Africa, South East Asia, USA and South America.

We are interested in developing long-term collaborative projects of mutual benefit. There are a range of partnership mechanisms available to suit the requirements of our partner organisations.

  • Strategic partnerships, which provide an opportunity for the development of large-scale collaborative research projects and knowledge transfer through long-term commitment from both researchers and the partner organisation.
  • Knowledge Transfer Partnerships can offer targeted research projects focusing on a particular business challenges.
  • Joint Industry Projects, where we have a proven track record of delivering petroleum industry-focused research through Joint Industry Projects (JIPs); more information can be found on the Geosolutions Leeds website.

We also have strong partnerships within the University of Leeds, playing a leading role in many of the University’s inter-disciplinary research themes, including climate change, energy, food and water.
