- Programme leader: Urban Data Science and Analytics MSc
I am a population geographer interested in the inequalities between people and places, in particular how humans interact with, and benefit from, different environments.
My teaching on the MSc Urban Data Science and Analytics involves the theory and application of data science techniques and developing creative, collaborative solutions to a range of real-world urban challenges. I work with a variety of different industries and partners, and building in these practical partnerships is a key element of the course. I’m especially interested in access to nature, mental health, and disadvantage- all of which come across in my teaching.
I have quite an interdisciplinary background, having studied Civil Engineering and Data Analytics, before completing my PhD in Urban Science, so I’m really keen on combining multiple perspectives to provide new approaches and insights in both my research and this course.
I look forward to welcoming students from a range of quantitative disciplines and helping them work towards careers in a variety of sectors, or progressing to research for a PhD.
