Our transport system faces unprecedented challenges with new travel initiatives and COVID-19-related behavioural changes.
The convergence of rising living costs, climate concerns and emerging technologies (from micro-mobility to new vehicle-based technologies) amplifies demands on policymakers to target zero traffic-related deaths by 2030.
Emphasising traffic safety culture—examining shared beliefs among road users, planners, and authorities—illuminates areas to improve road safety.
The project aims to understand the local components of this multi-dimensional structure, also termed traffic safety culture, identify the county’s urgent needs and provide practical solutions for a safer and more sustainable transport system across West Yorkshire.
