International Network on Uneven Local Responses to the Global Recession

This is an international network funded by the Leverhulme Trust from July 2010 to July 2014 to explore the economic recession as a source of new governmental rationalities and associated socio-spatial change at the city-regional scale across Europe. It is hosted by the School of Geography, University of Leeds (Principal Investigator Sara Gonzalez) and involve colleagues from University of Antwerp (Stijn Oosterlynck), Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Ramon Ribera Fumaz), University of Turin (Ugo Rossi) and Sheffield University (Martin Jones). It funds workshops and field trip visits to study five case studies (Leeds, Barcelona, Brussels, Cagliari and Turin) to develop a comparative methodology along the lines of a Cultural political Economy theoretical framework.
