Early Career Researcher spotlight
Early Career Researcher Spotlight series
Our ECR Spotlight series will feature regular articles on our researchers, their work and their plans for the future. We’ll include interviews, showcasing their research, career paths and insights into the challenges and successes of being an early-career researcher at Leeds.
Research staff and early career researchers (ECR) are vital to our Faculty and to a vibrant and diverse research environment. As a Faculty, we have a commitment to support the development of researchers and to deliver a positive and inclusive research culture, where researchers influence decision-making and contribute to peer-led, positive change.
Faculty-appointed ECR representatives ensure that research staff have a voice and a seat where decisions are made; they advocate for the interests, challenges and expectations of all research staff, raise issues and concerns, and provide feedback. Working alongside senior leadership within the Faculty and Schools, they represent the views and perspectives of research staff and proactively support issues of importance to the research community.
Our ECR reps are:
- School of Geography: Dr Folasayo Ogundipe;
- School of Food Science & Nutrition: Dr Ruixian Han;
- Institute for Transport Studies: Dr Jin Liu, Dr Alice de Sejournet; and
- School of Earth & Environment: Dr Cheng Wen, Dr Stephen Mason, Dr Benjamin Wallis.
As part of our ongoing commitment to research staff, we are launching a new spotlight series that showcases the world-leading research by ECRs in the Faculty of Environment.
