Public Health, Nutrition and Consumer Behaviour
We are a multidisciplinary team focused on creating healthier food environments, reducing health inequalities, and informing effective policy and practice.
Our research spans dietary assessment, food choice, nutrition labelling, and intervention design. Through collaboration with national and international partners, we generate high-quality evidence to support healthier diets and improve population health.
Our sub themes
Public Health, Epidemiology and Policy
Our research addresses dietary assessment, diet-disease relationships, food choice, and nutritional determinants across the lifespan. We aim to improve understanding of the role of nutrition in public health, thereby contributing to evidence-based policy development.
Food Choice, Sensory and Lifestyle Interventions
We design and evaluate inclusive interventions to improve dietary intake and food product design. Using both group-based and personalised approaches, our work empowers individuals and communities to adopt healthier diets and reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases.
Our people
Our research academics and staff—including research fellows, research associates, and research assistants— all play a vital role in supporting and developing our work in Public Health, Nutrition and Consumer Behaviour.
