Aerosols and Regional Climate

We quantified and reduced the uncertainty in aerosol radiative forcing over China. Regional and seasonal discrepancies were identified and dynamical responses to aerosol forcing were quantified.


Our results have implications for air quality planning in Asia during Winter months and for the development and impact of the East Asian Monsoon, in terms of increased model skill at simulating drought and flooding events. We identified model biases that can be used to further improve climate models.
