FORSEA - Follow-on

The FORecasting for SouthEast Asia (FORSEA) project aims to improve forecasts of high-impact weather (HIW) in Southeast Asia in order to reduce future socio-economic losses from hazards such as heavy rainfall and associated flooding and landslides.

This project extension aims to investigate HIW and equatorial waves in ensemble forecasts, to carry out a process evaluation of the mechanisms by which Convectively Coupled Kelvin Waves lead to HIW, and to investigate the dynamics of Borneo vortices and tropical cyclones.
